Top 15 Movies that have stuck with me: (as seen on Facebook)

  1. Memento – I have never seen a movie that I was so engrossed in trying to figure out and after which more discussion of the same was had with my friends and I. (Saw at the Capri Theater)
  2. Jurassic Park – This was the first movie that I ever saw with “super sound.” We sat near the front wide eyed at the amazing sound and the awesome movie. (Saw at Carmike Eastdale 8)
  3. Tombstone – The most, great quotes ever in a movie, a cast that kept on giving, and a great story that had lead to many viewings over the years. (Saw on VHS)
  4. Braveheart – Possibly the best movie to me of all time. When I saw his wife’s throat cut for the first time, I was in shock for a few seconds followed by near tears, and then a sudden and ferocious anger. They really made you feel that scene and I love them for it. (Saw on VHS)
  5. Sin City – This was a comic book on film in all the best ways possible. Stylized and gritty, this is all that I wanted out of a movie based off of a GRAPHIC novel and more. (Saw on DVD)
  6. Monty Python and the Holy Grail – This is the movie that made me realize that comedies can be some of the best films. Great comedies are so rare and this one sits at the top… with big, pointy teeth. (Saw on VHS)
  7. Philadelphia Story – My favorite older film. How can you not love a smart and funny film staring Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and James Stewart? (Saw on VHS)
  8. IT – A movie that terrified me so much as a child that I never watch it in its entirety until I was 17 or 18. (Saw on VHS)
  9. Dead Alive – The only movie that I have seen that made me nauseous. I nearly got sick during the dinner with zombie mom. (Saw on VHS)
  10. Chasing Amy – The way Kevin Smith dealt with relationships with such wit and humor was amazing. (Saw on VHS)
  11. Army of Darkness – My favorite of the series with great humor, dialogue, and fun. (Saw on VHS)
  12. Moulin Rouge – This was the movie that opened me up to musicals. Before this, I avoided them like the plague, but the energy between Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman was electric and I was hooked. (Saw at Rave Motion Pictures)
  13. Jim Henson’s The Bunny Picnic – This was one of my favorite films as a child and one which I still cherish today. It is a shame that this is a mostly hidden gem that many have not seen. (Saw on bootleg VHS)
  14. The Matrix – There was one point not long after this movie came out on VHS when I watched it at least once a day for a month and never got tired of it. The crazy thing was that I watched it for the first time in the theater, the third movie in a block with Go and Ten Things I hate About You and I actually didn’t enjoy it all that much. (Saw at Carmike Wynsong 10)
  15. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – This is the film that showed the world that fantasy films can legitimately be some of the best films of all time. The story, acting, sound, effects, everything came together to make an amazing film. (Saw at Promenade Cinema 12)
