Film Spotting Podcast

Film Spotting is a podcast that I came across a few months ago. I had long since gotten ride of the few movie podcasts that I had listened to on a regular basis, and I decided to give a look around to see if there were any decent ones out there that I could sign up for.

Before long I can across this one. It is run by two former actors that now teach acting for colleges, see most new movies, and have vast knowledge on movies in general. They are a good pair to do this, as one is more of a classic critic and the other more modern to give two completely different views on many films.

This is a weekly show that incorporates spoiler free reviews of new movies, reviews of other movies in theaters and occasionally DVDs, top five lists, questions for top fives for listeners, Mattie’s Movie Minute, and Massacre Theater where they act out a famous scene with listeners e-mailing their guesses.

This is a podcast that I now look forward to seeing in my iPod queue every week at the end of the week and I have grown to enjoy it more and more as I have listened. To add to this, they occasionally have an extra show to go along with their 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minute weekly show that goes about 40 minutes where they try to catch up on topics and review a movie at the behest of one of their winners.

If you enjoy movies, like to hear discussion on them, or like to listen to podcasts about movies, this is definitely for you. It is out of Chicago, IL and they are currently trying to set up a meeting of many of their local fans. Give it a shot, its well worth it.
