This is an overview of a group from England that put out a number of interesting and funny podcasts weekly on the Simply Syndicated network. These podcasts include, but are not limited to:

Movies You Should See
The Deffinitive Word
...or do you think that's just Bollocks?
Rich and Allison's Super Happy Fun Time
Games You Should Play
Books You Should Read
Albumn's You Should Hear
Craig's Movie Minute
Make it So

Completed Shows:
Weekend Watchers
DVD Commentary

So, I started listening to my first podcast of their's "Movies You Should See" over two years ago when I worked on the main campus of my previous job. I had an iPod for a little while and was looking for something to fill my 30 hour plus commute to and from work every day. I wasn't big on making playlists and had listed to a few other podcasts and decided to take a look at beefing up my podcast lineup.

One area I looked at was movies. I had gotten the Ebbert and Roper podcast, which was ok, but sometimes irregularly put out. So, when I found this one, I decided to give it a go. They already had a good backlog of episodes to take up my time and from the first one I was hooked. They had a group of around 6 people with 4 or 5 on each show talking about sometimes mainstream and sometimes obscure movie titles.

They all obvisously had seen tons of movies and you had a range from still fairly casual movie watchers to others who look much deeper into their films. Add the great repor they have with each other to their movie knowledge, and their frequent comedic remarks for a very entertaining show. I listened for a number of months before moving on to other shows and will never forget the show that drew me in.

The shows currently on my Simply Syndicated roster are underlined above. Even though I am now signed up for 35 podcast subscriptions, I still always find time to check out the new episodes of most of their shows as soon as they are released.

They have also started a couple of new aspects, phone ins and live shows. Rich's ...Bollocks show has always taken voice messages and played them, but this is different. The bollocks show and SHFT are now both live shows on Thursday and Friday respectively usually around midnight over there, or 6 p.m. CST. You can listed to the entire show live and get parts of the show that are later cut out. You can also call in when they open the lines and become a part of the show both live and on the podcast. This isn't new to many news radio listeners for a show that is only a podcast and not on radio at all it is a great achievement.

I love this new edition and have listened to 4 live shows so far as well as calling in on one of them. This is a much more exciting experience. The cherry on top is the live chat. Before the live shows start, the SimpSyn fans congregate in the live chat on www.simplysyndicated.com where they bs until the show starts. Then during the show, they have another live chat on the program the live show is hosted on, previously Stickam, but for the most recent show ustream. This allows the fans to interact with each other instead of just listening and calling in. Those doing the live show can also see the chat and respond if they like on the show.

This is by far the best podcasting group I have heard. There are other single podcast shows that I enjoy as much, but no other group that I listen to have more than one podcast. It is amazing what they are doing and I hope they continue for a long, long time.

{Currently Listening to Foreplay/Long Time - Boston, Newgrange - Celtic Woman, Livin' On a Prayer - Bon Jovi}
