The Guild: Season 1, Episode 1: Wake-Up Call
In the opening episode of the The Guild we are introduced to Codex, a young girl who is jobless, has just been dumped by her shrink, and has a gnome warlock sleeping on her couch.
Codex is talking to her therapist who refuses to continue seeing her because she refuses to break away from her online friends, who she spends most of her time with on a World of Warcraft like video game. Even as they speak, she continues to play with them. She tells the shrink that she has cut back on her internet time and we see a sticky note with One Hour Internet written on it and crossed out to show 2, 3, 4, and then 5 hours.
Her guildmates are upset as her support never came in their last battle since she was on the phone and we meet the other members of the guild: Vork (guildmaster and leader) who lives alone and on the bare nessecities; TINKERBALLA - a young Asian girl who spends all of her time online, paying video games, and is more independant than most of the others; CLARA - an airheaded mother of 3 who neglects her children to play the game; and BLADEZZ - the youngest member who still lives at home with his parents and is the crude member of the group.
After their defeat, they mention that their sixth member, ZABOO, never showed up and that he hasn't been on for 39 hours which is shocking to all of them.
Codex then hears her doorbell and goes to see who it is. There is a young man their with a delivery. She opens the door and he hands her a bouquet of blue flowers and after she tells them that they are beautiful he tells her that they are for her because she is beautiful. He then tells her that she has a nice forehead.
She is confused and asks if she knows him. He chuckles and tells her about resurrecting him after he was gored and it dawns on her that he is ZABOO. He then brushes past her with his laptop and a bag full of stuff to her bewilderment.
This is an awesome first episode full of laughs as we get to know the story and the parties involved.
